Induction Heater for C Joints Tempering
Tempering process improves the features of a metal, particularly steel, by heating it to a high temperature, though below the melting point, then cooling it, normally in air. The procedure has the influence of toughening by lessening brittleness and decreasing internal stresses. C Joint Tempering is used to attach your vehicle’s transmission to your wheels. These joints are part of the driveshaft and are used mainly on front-wheel drive vehicles & in rear- and four-wheel drive vehicles. The C Joint Tempering is done using induction heaters to temperatures of around 160 to 180 degrees Celsius. This stops unwanted heating of the material structure in the heat-affected zone, the area directly surrounding the weld. Pre-heating efficiently prevents the formation of cracks in the C Joints.
