Induction Heater for Crankshafts Tempering

Tempering process improves the features of a metal, particularly steel, by heating it to a high temperature, though below the melting point, then cooling it, normally in air. The procedure has the influence of toughening by lessening brittleness and decreasing internal stresses. A hardening procedure for a crankshaft consists of subjecting the crankshaft to first induction hardening procedure to produce a hardened layer of an extensive thickness at all bearing locations and at all transitional points between the journal pins, crank pins and crank webs. Induction Heater for Crankshafts Tempering provides induction heating for tempering crankshafts. The objective of this application is to decrease the amount of consequent re-machining and make crankshafts more manageable. If induction heating is integrated into the fabrication lines, each crankshaft can be hardened with enhanced repeatability and controllability.
